I gave the keynote address “Looking backwards and forwards: evolving technology and people for 3D Web” at the 30th Anniversary Web3D Conference in Siena Italy on 9 SEP 2025. Once back stateside, the Web3D team recorded the reprise as a public webinar.

Abstract. The Web3D Conference has been an amazing ride over the past three decades!  A visionary group of 3D modelers, coders, artists and technologists are together creating a third dimension for the World Wide Web.  Fearlessly tackling obstacles and deliberately working together on the most achievable challenges first has achieved many successes.  Even bigger challenges are emerging before us… how do we continue scaling up and out, to reach everyone and everything, everywhere, all the time?  The past is prologue, if you pay attention.  Thinking about the big picture, pursuing opportunity, and learning from each other helps all of us build the special future we want.
